film magazine common conventions

These are 3 film magazine covers.
They are all by the same publisheres 'TOTAL FILM' and all share a couple common conventions like;
colours, text, layout.
The colours are all on the dark creepy side like the third one for example, instead of using bright colourful reds they use dark reds and blacks maybe to connote fear, death, blood and to give off the overall horror genre.
The second one also does this by using dark blues, blacks, dark greens. However it also used light blue and some specs of white to connote the ocean and deep waters also death but with some specs of happiness.
The text is in white.
Just plain white on all of them.
I think this is so it stands out and doesn't get swept away with the background. So you can read it easily and so its the first thing your eyes go to.
This goes for all three of them but the first one has quite a lot of red in the text but its okay because the background is plain black and so the text still stands out!
All three have the same layout, with the picture in the background but the main thing in the image focused in the middle. The main title goes across the middle without crowding or blocking out the image.
The credits and extra information go down the sides and at the bottom along with the barcode (usually at the bottom). They also have the name of the magazine up the top and above that any other info.
