What Common Conventions do they Share?

Colours: Black, Red, White, dark greens, blues, dark oranges

Black connotes death and darkness.
Red connotes blood and death.
White connotes ghosts.
Dark greens connote zombies.
Blue connotes Ice, coldness and ghosts.
Oranges connote Halloween.  

Main image:

Typography:

Scary old fonts that may use blood, bone, etc.

Lexis:

Words associated with horror E.G. 'nightmare' evil or words associated with being lost like 'missing', 'one wrong turn...'
